Officers Arrest Armed Sexual Assault Suspect

Last night, an officer working an off-duty security assignment at a retail location was flagged down about a sexual assault that had just occurred. The officer was able to broadcast a description of the suspect and other officers immediately began searching the area.

After a brief search, the suspect was located hiding in a dumpster enclosure. A perimeter was setup around the enclosure, and the suspect followed verbal commands to come out at which point he was taken into custody without incident.

K9 Raider responded to the scene and performed an evidence track for evidence that the suspect had discarded. Multiple pieces of evidence were recovered including a firearm and firearm magazine that the suspect had discarded near the dumpster and later admitted to having been in possession of.

The suspect is prohibited from possessing firearms and was booked into jail for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and investigation of sexual assault.
