Male Slumped Over In Vehicle Arrest for Unlawful Firearms Possession
On Saturday (9/13), officers responded to the report of two individuals slumped over in a vehicle in the 300 blk Strander Blvd. Both suspects had visible drug paraphernalia in their laps. Officers were able to successfully wake the pair up. During a frisk, the male in the driver’s seat was found to be in possession of a handgun. It was discovered that he is a convicted felon for Robbery 2nd Degree and therefore not legally allowed to possess a firearm.
The firearm was registered to an individual in Kirkland. Upon having Kirkland PD check in with the registered owner of the firearm, the registered owner stated that he was out of state and that no one should be in possession of his firearm. As a result, Kirkland PD is investigating the theft of the firearm and are also investigating a potential burglary related to the firearm.
In addition to the firearm, the suspect was in possession of drugs, narcotic paraphernalia and counterfeit cash.
The suspect was booked into jail for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm with additional charges pending investigation.
