Officer and MHP Assist Woman & Child In Need

Last week, Officer Johnson was dispatched to the report of a woman soliciting (panhandling for you old timers) in the 300 blk Strander Blvd. The woman was reported to have a small child with her.

Upon arrival, Officer Johnson determined that the woman and child were in fact in a bad situation and as a result, had no where to stay. He requested assistance from our Mental Health Provider (MHP) Fisk who arrived and began working on setting up resources and assistance for the mother and child. While this was happening, Officer Johnson secured housing for the pair at a local hotel and used his BlueBridge Alliance card to pay for the room

MHP Fisk was later able to find them longer term housing the next morning. This is one of many examples of our partnership with BlueBridge Alliance assisting those in need right when they need assistance the most.

  1. Great example of community policing and utilizing the mental health specialists! Wraparound services at their best!
