Officers Respond To Shooting That Leaves One Teen Injured

At around 8:30pm last night (2/7), officers responded to reports of a shooting that had occurred in the 12400 blk 42nd Ave S. Initial reports indicated that a group of juveniles were engaged in a dispute at which point gunshots rang out before the involved parties fled in separate vehicles.

Responding officers located a vehicle matching the description of one of the involved vehicles in the vicinity of Gateway Dr and Interurban Ave S and detained the occupants. All the occupants were identified and released due to lack of probable cause at the time to make an arrest.

Shortly thereafter, a hospital advised that a teenage male had arrived with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Detectives responded to the hospital to interview the individual but he refused to cooperate. Major Crimes Unit (MCU) detectives will continue to investigate the incident.
