Stolen Car & Firearm Recovered

Shortly after noon today (12/3), Tukwila officers located a vehicle that had been recently stolen out of Renton along with the registered owner’s firearm that was inside of the vehicle at the time of the theft. Officers successfully deployed tire deflation devices to deflate the stolen vehicle’s tires. However, the suspect continued to flee by driving on the deflated tires in an attempt to elude officers.

While fleeing, the suspect was involved in two separate collisions which ultimately led to the stolen vehicle coming to a stop in the vicinity of Klickitat Drive and Southcenter Pkwy. One motorist sustained a minor injury as a result of the collision. The suspect sustained serious injuries from the collision and was transported to the hospital in serious condition. He was found to have an active Department of Corrections escape warrant.

Officers recovered a loaded firearm from within the stolen vehicle. The Tukwila PD Traffic Unit responded to the scene to handle the collision investigation.
