New Recruits Head To The Police Academy
They grow up so fast 😢 Today, we bid a formal farewell our newest group of four police recruits (aka the Fab Four) who joined us in the early spring. Tomorrow, they will be heading to the police academy to begin their 720 hours of initial training.
Since joining us in March and April, the Fab Four have been assigned to our Professional Standards Unit (PSU) to undergo pre-academy training. While the wait for an academy start date has been long, the extra time gave our new recruits extra time to prepare and train.
Over the past several months, they underwent defensive tactics training, crisis intervention training, policy and procedure review, scenario training, use of force reviews, worked as role players for defense tactics, SWAT and active shooter trainings, did many ride alongs, met members of the community and so much more.
You will be seeing them hitting the streets with their field training officers (FTO) in 2024! We have several more starting with us over the next month and are still hiring!
If you’re interested in a career in law enforcement with an agency that is still out there proactively going after criminals, making arrests and doing police work to make the community safer for all, visit http://www.jointukwilapd.com
