Paint with PD a Success!
Paint with PD was a major success and we will be scheduling the next one (with much more advanced notice) soon! We got a ton of the new and old graffiti covered, picked up trash, met property owners and employees and made some new partnerships in the process.
Big thank you to the City Administrator, current and former Tukwila School District teachers, a Tukwila Elementary student, Tukwila residents and others who came out to help. Also thank you to our newest officer, Officer Desmul who has one day on the job so far and came in on his day off to meet members of the community and help clean up our neighborhoods.
Also a shout out to KING 5 and KIRO 7 News for stopping by and checking out what our community has started.
The key to these types of programs is speed. When you start noticing graffiti, trash and overgrown properties, you will almost always notice an increase in crime and or suspicious activity. One of the absolute best things you can do to avoid that is to remove graffiti from your buildings and fences ASAP once it is noticed and keep your property and curbs well maintained.
If you’re interested in participating in our next one or setting up a Neighborhood Watch program, send us a private message on social media or e-mail Officer Masters at v.masters@tukwilawa.gov
