Today like every year since 2009, we remember and honor the lives Lakewood PD Sergeant Mark Renninger and Lakewood Officers Tina Griswold, Greg Richards and Ronald Owens whose lives were taken in a senseless act of violence in Parkland, WA 12 years ago.
Between 1996 and 2004, Sergeant Renninger spent thousands of hours patrolling the streets of Tukwila where he began his law enforcement career with us (Badge #128). The contributions that he made to the Tukwila community during his time with us are immeasurable and his loss is still felt by the many that he befriended during the years he dedicated to the Tukwila community. He would go on to join the newly formed Lakewood PD in 2004 where he worked tirelessly to make the streets of Lakewood safe for everyone.
Officer Griswold had joined the newly formed Lakewood PD from Lacey PD, Officer Richards from Kent PD and Officer Owens from the Washington State Patrol. All three of them were decorated officers who worked tirelessly to make their communities safer.
We honor their ultimate sacrifice by keeping their memories with us, never forgetting their dedication and commitment, and ensuring that their names will never be forgotten.
