Officer Battles Blaze with Gas Mask and Garden Hose

Around 2:30PM, a Tukwila officer in the vicinity of the 14800 blk Tukwila International Blvd observed a small brush fire on the east side of the road near the former Neighborhood Resource Center. As the officer was calling for assistance from the fire department, he observed the fire beginning to rapidly spread in the direction of the nearby structure.

Realizing that the fire was spreading rapidly, the officer donned his gas mask and grabbed a nearby garden hose at which time he began fire suppression efforts.

Firefighters arrived on scene shortly thereafter and quickly extinguished the blaze.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
