About National Night Out
National Night Out (NNO) is a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW). On the first Tuesday of August, thousands of neighborhoods across the country will be participating in this event.
Over the past decade, we have been honored to have the chance to meet so many residents and business owners during these National Night Out events. They are always fun and something that we look forward to every year.
Purpose
National Night out is designed to do the following:
- Heighten crime/drug prevention awareness.
- Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
National Night Out is about individual neighborhoods coming together. Although we make every effort to accommodate visit requests, the nature of our job and emergencies may prevent us from attending all of the parties.
For those interested in setting up neighborhood or block watches, this is a great way to meet your neighbors and Tukwila officers and establish those relationships to setup neighborhood watches.
Registering Your Party
Registration for Tukwila neighborhood parties is open until Friday, July 30, 2021. Registering your event ensures that members of the Tukwila Police Department, Tukwila Fire Department, and your elected officials are aware of your party and will be in attendance. We will try to make appearances between 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. that night. If you have a particular question or neighborhood concern you and your neighbors would like addressed, please note that on your registration and we can address it with you during the party.
