Suspect arrested after brandishing stolen firearm

On June 3rd at 10:53PM, officers were dispatched to the 6200 blk Southcenter Blvd for a 9-1-1 call involving a report of threats with a firearm involved.


Officers contacted the victim in the 6200 blk Southcenter Blvd and determined that a 43-year-old male from Tukwila had brandished a firearm during a verbal exchange with the victim in the 5700 blk S 152nd St. The victim fled the scene in a vehicle and in doing so, had been followed from the scene by the suspect.


Officers located the suspect vehicle in the 5800 blk Southcenter Blvd and attempted to perform a high-risk felony stop. The suspect did not comply with commands to exit the vehicle and instead fled the scene in his vehicle. Officers followed him to the 5700 blk S 152nd St where he exited the vehicle and fled on foot into a nearby apartment that was determined to be his residence.


Officers were able to get the suspect to exit the apartment and he was taken into custody without incident. A stolen handgun that had been reported stolen in Tukwila in December of 2020 was recovered from the suspect’s vehicle.


The suspect who is has numerous prior felony convictions was booked into jail on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Felony Eluding.
