Vandal detained following rock throwing incident

At midnight on June 1st, officers responded to the 14400 blk Tukwila International Blvd for a report of an adult male from Federal Way that was displaying erratic behavior at a convenience store.

An officer located the male rapidly walking southbound on Tukwila International Blvd in the 14800 block with a large rock in his hand.As the suspect approached the Tukwila Justice Center, he walked up to the front doors and threw large rock at the front window of the Justice Center causing damage to the window.

He quickly picked up the rock and then used it to damage the access card reader.An officer caught up to the suspect and was able to take him into custody without incident. He was transported to the hospital for mental health evaluation.
