Dog walker thwarts potential arson attempt
On Friday, February 26th, an individual walking their dog in the vicinity of the 129th St bridge was guided off the walking path by their dog which led to a significant discovery.
Dry wood and other items in and around rubber tires were discovered placed around the base of numerous wooden bridge support pillars underneath the 129th St bridge.
Community Police Team (CPT) detectives responded and confirmed the presence of the material and that it was staged in a way consistent with an arson attempt. Tukwila FD was notified and are investigating as well.
On behalf of the entire Tukwila community, we can not thank the reporting party enough for reporting this right away. Their actions very well may have saved the bridge and lives.
