First responders searching for male in the Duwamish River

At approximately 3:32PM, Tukwila officers were dispatched to a financial institution in the 12700 blk Gateway Dr for the report of suspected fraudulent activity. The suspect who was described as an adult male was reported to be attempting to use fraudulent and or stolen documents for a financial transaction.

Responding officers located the suspect who immediately fled on foot and jumped into the Duwamish River nearby. Officers immediately called for Tukwila FD river support to assist with rescue attempts. Shortly after entering the water, the suspect was quickly overcome by the rapidly moving currents and went under the water and out of view. He has not been located as of this post.

King County Guardian One and multiple area fire departments along with Tukwila FD and Tukwila officers are continuing to search.
