Reporting Suspicious Activity

Suspicious Activity – We have received several reports of suspicious activity recently all of which appear to involve the same male based on the descriptions given. The male in question is described as mid 20’s, approximately 5’7” – 5’10” tall with a disheveled appearance. He is associated with a light blue Hyundai Elantra with a taped over rear small window.

While the actions of the individual are not criminal in and of themselves, the behavior associated with the actions is in fact suspicious. The male has gone up to the doors of several different houses and provided several different stories to residents at each house either asking to use the resident’s phone or making claims and statements that did not make sense.

In one instance, he immediately fled when the resident called the police. In another incident, he walked away and didn’t want to be seen getting into his vehicle by the resident. In this incident, he circled the block then immediately fled when he realized he had been spotted getting into his vehicle.

If you see anything suspicious, please call us at (206)-241-2121 or 911 if it is an emergency. We cannot dispatch officers or respond to requests for assistance via social media. All requests must be routed through our dispatch center ValleyCOM so that an officer can be dispatched to investigate. Our social media sites are not monitored 24/7.

If you are going to make a post about suspicious activity to NextDoor, Facebook Groups, Twitter, Instagram etc., ask first if it is something that you should notify us about. The sooner we are aware of suspicious activity, the quicker we can respond to it and the higher the likelihood there is that we will be able to locate and contact the involved parties if there are legal grounds to do so.
