Armed Felon Arrested For Firearm Violation Following Altercation

On Thanksgiving at around 8:50PM, officers responded to a business in the 14000 blk Interurban Ave S after receiving reports of an altercation. Initial reports indicated that two security officers were holding an individual involved in the altercation at gun point. 

Upon arrival, officers detained the adult male suspect and interviewed the security guards. Probable cause was established that the suspect had brandished a firearm and threatened the security guards with it after being observed acting suspiciously in a parked car. The suspects firearm was recovered and substances consistent with meth and fentanyl were recovered from his person during a search incident to arrest. 

A record check revealed that the firearm had been stolen out of California. The suspect was also found to be a convicted felony for Assaulted 2nd Degree and therefore prohibited from possession a firearm. 

The suspect was booked into jail for felony firearm violations.
