Lowe’s Donation Assists Detectives With Evidence Collection

A few weeks ago, Lowe’s dropped of a set of DeWalt power tools to our Major Crimes Unit (MCU). What could detectives possibly need power tools for you ask? Behind the scenes, detectives use a variety of tools to recover evidence. They disassemble parts of cars, cut holes in walls, remove carpeting, fence posts etc.

A week after these power tools were donated to us by Lowe’s, MCU detectives put them to use removing a portion of a wall to recover a bullet fragment from the scene of a shooting. The use of the power tools resulted in a quick retrieval with minimal damage to the structure.
