Officer Chao hit the streets running yesterday for his first day of field training on a day which saw Tukwila officers respond to and or initiate a total of 101 calls for service.
Officer Chao recovered a stolen car and detained the suspect, recovered multiple types of prescription narcotics, recovered a toy gun with all the orange tips and safety markers removed, took an auto-theft report, a vehicle prowling report, did several welfare checks, checked on a 9-1-1 hang-up call, checked on a suspicious person loitering behind a business and managed to fit in lunch, work on some reports and book evidence plus backing other officers on their calls.
We are still looking for more experienced (lateral) police officers that are looking to join our team. As you can tell from the above, we are a busy department that is still hitting the streets every day making arrests, providing assistance to those that need it and working to build a safer community for everyone.
