Officer Wollan Awarded Outstanding Officer of the Year

On September 20th, Officer Wollan was awarded the 2025 Outstanding Officer of the Year award by the Delta-White Center Masonic Lodge No. 172 for the unwavering support and dedication he offered to Officer Brian Hunter during his battle with cancer.

Officer Wollan demonstrated exceptional compassion, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to Officer Hunter and his family during that trying time and exemplified extraordinary character and humanity in support of a fellow officer undergoing cancer treatment.

During that time of vulnerability and uncertainty, Officer Wollan opened his home to Officer Hunter, providing not only a place to stay, but also an environment filled with dignity, comfort, and care. This act alone goes beyond the expectations of friendship or professional duty; it exemplifies the very best of who we are as public servants and human beings.  When it became clear that the end-of-life for our brother officer was near, Officer Wollan extended his support to the officer’s family, acting as family liaison and helping them navigate the emotional and practical challenges of end-of-life preparation. His presence brought stability, reassurance, and strength to those struggling with grief and the fear of what was to come.  These actions reflect a deep and personal commitment to the values we hold dear: service, empathy, and selflessness. Officer Wollan and his family chose to embrace those values for a friend and those around them, despite the personal emotional toll that came with it.
