Suspect in Brush Fire Incident Identified

In the evening of September 1, Tukwila officers located an adult male at the scene of yesterday’s fire in the 14800 blk Tukwila International Blvd. The suspect had just started a garbage fire in the same location prior to being contacted by officers. Officers detained the suspect while the Tukwila Fire Department extinguished the fire.

Upon questioning, the suspect admitted to having started the fire earlier in the day as well as another fire that had occurred a month ago in the 14400 blk Tukwila International Blvd. The suspect claimed that he was seeing demons and the only way to get rid of them was to start fires.

Due to his mental state, he was transported to the hospital for mental health evaluation.
