Juvenile Detained Three Times In One Evening
Last night, officers reported to a disturbance involving approximately six males who were damaging property at a retail location. Upon arrival, officers detained an adult male and a juvenile who were part of the group. The rest of the group became aggressive with the arresting officers which resulted in a priority response from addition officers to assist in controlling the situation.
The detained adult male was found to be in possession of a pistol and a substance consistent with narcotics. He was booked into jail on charges for the firearm and narcotics. The detained juvenile was trespassed from the location and provided a ride to the Light Rail station to catch a bus back to his home in Renton.
Instead, the juvenile made his way back to the location of the incident about 30 minutes later and was detained for trespassing after being spotted by officers. This time, his mother responded and took custody of him. As she was attempting to leave, he fled from her car on foot.
Going for a hat trick of three detainments in one day, the juvenile yet again returned and was located by officers spitting on their patrol cars. He was detained for the third time that evening with the hope that he would be booked into juvenile detention due to the clear message he was sending that his behavior would not only not stop, but would escalate with every contact. Juvenile detention refused to accept him for booking however due to the nature of the crimes. He was transported by officers to his mother’s residence in Renton and dropped off.
