Suspect Arrested After Brandishing Machete

Just after 11am, officers responded to the report of an altercation at a gas station in which one of the involved parties had brandished a machete and was reported to be striking a vehicle with it.

Responding officers located the suspect in a highly agitated state in the 6800 blk S 180th St. While attempting to detain him, he struck an officer and resisted arrest. It took numerous officers to get him under control and restrained.

The suspect will be booked into jail and is facing charges of Assault and Malicious Mischief.
