Suspect in Custody After Burglary, Assault and Pursuit
Early this morning (9/23), Tukwila officers located an occupied stolen police vehicle. The suspect had committed a burglary in Bellevue and violently assaulted a responding Bellevue PD Officer. Due to the circumstances of the case, a pursuit was authorized. If not for the violent assault on the officer, officers would not have been able to pursue the stolen police vehicle under the current laws related to pursuable offenses.
The suspect was taken into custody after spike strips were deployed and a PIT maneuver was utilized to stop the fleeing vehicle. More information is available via the attached Bellevue PD press release.
