Yesterday, Detective Mosley responded to the report of a shirtless male that was damaging property in the Southcenter District. The suspect had already fled the area prior to Detective Mosley’s arrival. While searching a nearby parking garage for the suspect, Detective Mosley located the suspect hanging over the edge of the wall on an upper level of the garage. The male was in mental crisis and in the process of releasing his hands from the ledge where he was hanging.
Detective Mosley rushed forward and was able to grab onto one of the male’s arms before he could let go. He proceeded to hold the man for almost a minute until several security officers arrived to assist with pulling him back up and over the wall to safety.
The male was transported to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.
In addition to the quick actions by Detective Mosley, we want to recognize and thank the Westfield Southcenter security team that rapidly responded to assist with pulling the male to safety.
