This morning at around 4:20 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a truck in the 14000 blk Tukwila International Blvd. The driver was known to officers and had several active warrants. As the officer approached the vehicle, the suspect fled in his vehicle.
Officers briefly pursued the vehicle and utilized a PIT maneuver to disable the vehicle then pinned it in with their patrol vehicles. The suspect began continuously ramming the patrol vehicles and was able to get his vehicle dislodged at which point he began to drive in reverse onto 518. He ultimately lost control of his vehicle and crashed. He attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by officers.
A Tukwila officer sustained minor injuries as a result of the suspect ramming his vehicle and was transported to the hospital. The suspect was also transported to the hospital.
The suspect is in custody and being charged with Assault 3rd Degree, Felony Eluding and DUI.
