Officers Intervene to Stop Suicidal Subject From Further Self Harm

Just before 7am, officers responded to the 15400 blk 53rd Ave S after receiving a report of an individual rambling incoherently that was reported to be covered in blood.

Responding officers located an adult male who was clearly in mental crisis and indeed covered in blood from severe self-inflicted lacerations. The male produced a knife upon being contacted by officers and began repeatedly cutting himself with the knife. Officers were able to limit his movements while our hostage negotiator Officer Thompson was able to get the subject to drop the knife. The male was transported to the hospital for treatment and mental health evaluation.
