Starting June 1st, speed enforcement cameras will be going live at Codiga Park in the 12500 blk 50th Pl S. Signage has been posted in the area advising motorists as such. The area where the cameras are being installed is at Codiga Park at the base of the 129th St bridge over I-5. This area has been a repeat concern for residents who have a hard time getting out of their driveways due to the blind curve and vehicles traveling at excessive speed.

For the first 30 days of operation, violations will result in a warning letter. After that, violations will result in a fine of $145 per violation. Citations will be mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle and payment for violations can be done by mail, phone and in-person at the Tukwila Municipal Court. These citations are treated as parking tickets and will not impact the offender’s driving record or insurance.

  1. Hurray and Hallelujah! I know it has been a long time getting the equipment in place and setting this process up. I look forward to hearing about driver behavior changes for the good on that road – and especially not being tailgated by vehicles private and commercial that want to exceed the limit in what would otherwise be a nice, peaceful neighborhood.
