At approximately 2:15PM, officers contacted a known convicted felon with an active warrant for escape related to a charge of felony Assault 2nd Degree. The suspect, a transient male from Tacoma fled into the Green River near I-405.
Officers threw him floating devices that he ultimately pushed away. He floated to the nearby riverbank where he worked his way up the riverbank. Officers used a fire department ladder to assist with removing him from the vegetation at which point he was taken into custody without incident.
Substantial resources were utilized to get the suspect into custody including a drone, King County Guardian One, numerous fire department units and a King County Sheriff Department K9.
