Lots to unpack with this one but for the second time in a week, our K9 car was struck. Officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 15000 blk 57th Ave S. As officers arrived in the area, the suspect vehicle attempted to flee and struck our K9 vehicle. The male driver fled on foot and a female passenger remained behind.
The K9 was deployed along with a drone and the male was located hiding in the thick brush nearby. He was suffering from a case of identity crisis and quickly was awarded a Pinocchio Award after giving officers a false name. His true identity was revealed later on during the investigation and it turned out that there was a domestic violence protection order between him and the female that was in the car with him. A firearm was also discovered in the vehicle.
Not being new to the system, the suspect promptly threw the “I swallowed Fentanyl” down in a desperate attempt to avoid being taken to jail and as a result was denied by the jail for booking. Since the suspect was facing charges of Felony Eluding, Hit & Run, Order Violations and weapons charges, an officer escorted him to the hospital to be evaluated and medically cleared for booking.
