2024 1st Quarter Recognition
🚨2024 1st Quarter Recognition🚨
Congratulations to our employees of the 1st Quarter of 2024 Mental Health Professional (MHP) Alison FISK and Officer MASTERS as well as Chief Drever for 30 years of service !
MHP Fisk and Officer Masters routinely teamed up over the quarter to assist those in crisis and de-escalate volatile situations. During one such incident, Officer Masters and MHP Fisk successfully established rapport with the victim of severe, long-term domestic violence abuse to remove her from what had become a life-threatening situation. They moved quickly to place the victim somewhere safe and Officer Masters quickly took the offender into custody without incident. The pair successfully worked to obtain an Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) based on the violent nature of the abuse and the circumstances.
MHP FISK
Each day, Alison demonstrates an unwavering commitment to supporting individuals grappling with mental health challenges. Throughout January 2024, she devoted herself to assisting a family, particularly their adolescent son who was contending with severe mental health issues, including suicidal thoughts. Alison tirelessly engaged with the family on a daily basis, forging a bond with the son. When the son disappeared and ceased communicating with family members, it was Alison he responded to. Through her intervention, Alison facilitated the crucial mental health treatment he urgently needed by arranging for his involuntary commitment. Beyond her direct involvement with individuals, Alison extends her efforts to support officers as well. During the harsh winter conditions, she took the initiative to contact every warming shelter in the region and gathering vital information. This information was then disseminated to officers, empowering them to better serve the community and uphold the City’s caring and responsive core values.
Officer MASTERS
Officer Masters was moved from his PIO/Recruiter position to Days B Patrol to help with staffing shortages. During Officer Masters’ six-month rotation, he not only diligently answered calls for service without complaint, but he was one of the more proactive officers who never shied away from his duties. Officer Masters was also one of the more reliable officers. Though he could have used his accrued time off to work less, he instead consistently made the choice to be selfless and serve the needs of his peers and the Tukwila community. He also utilized the opportunity to share his experiences in Patrol through the Department Facebook page via “Virtual Ride Alongside”, which was a positive and creative way to embrace his temporary assignment.
Chief DREVER
Chief Drever was awarded a Distinguished Service Medal for 30 years of service with the Tukwila Police Department which was presented by Deputy Chief Lund. Chief Drever spoke with pride at being able to start his law enforcement career here in Tukwila 30 years ago and spend the entirety of his career serving the Tukwila community in a variety of roles within the department.

Congratulations, MPH Fisk, Officer Masters and Chief Drever! Each of you brings significant service and excellence to your roles in our community. Thank you all for leading by example – and making Tukwila a better place to live!!
